Hello again,
Well the tournament didn't go as well as we wanted it to. We ended up taking 43 of 55. The lake was tough, and most of the fish were deep. Locals called it "the dead sea," but by the end of the tournament they were impressed with college anglers. This is considering they have night tournaments every tuesday and thursday. I worked a drop shot most of the tournament, which is what I had most of my success on. I managed to get our only 3 keepers over the 2 days, while losing 4(3 of which I know for sure would have kept). It was a lot of fun though, met a few pros, saw Rob( previous president of FIBC). I think you should remember him from the qualifier or from before that. He's working out in little rock and doing well. Other than that a great experience, and I hope to be able to do it again next year.

Shaky heads and black trick worms are great. Even green pumpkin trick worms too. I only used it once on practice day and caught a small spot.

Thanks for the help in getting me to the Championship.

Hey Milt, Just dropping by to say hello. How is fishing going so far this summer for you? For myself, I've been just fishing local ponds and lakes about once or twice a week nothing big yet. The big National Championship is coming up this following week, and they moved us off the river and onto a body of water call Lake Maumelle. It came to a shock to many of the college anglers, but TJ and myself are thinking it'll keep the playing field fair, since very few in any have fished it or even know a lot about it. That's about it for now. I'll let you know how we do.

Milt, do you still fish that fork creature much? I just dug some out the other day and started catching fish on it again. I got to looking around on the internet in case I need to order more and saw that Mark Pack had got into some trouble with the e-commerce guys on his "old" site. Bass Pro Shops doesn't carry them anymore and I'm down to 2 sources -- lftlures.com and Barlow's. It seems like it won't be long before they're completely extinct! Then what?!

Mr.Waltermire. I read your blog and look forward to seeing you next year. I have told other people that I am old and wise and do not fall for many of the new tricks. I think that you also ran into one of my cousins at Lake Sara this summer. But it was not me, I am a little bigger than my cousin. If you can catch me you will have what your club calls big fish for the year, They dont call me Big Boy Roy for nothing. Good luck and maybe I will see you next year.
