Champaign Urbana Bass Club

I was wondering how peoples rain gear worked Sunday.
Mine was terrible and am going to get a new set, so I was wondering
what brand was best and if it was going to take a $500 suit
to stay dry. I'm more interested in staying dry instead of warm
(I can slways put clothes on under a suit or just wear my hunting gear for that)
Thanks

Hank,
Anything with gortex is going to keep you fairly dry. I looked at buying the basspro or cabelas guidewear gortex raingear. It was going to cost about $500 for the set. I, instead, bought the BassPro RedHead gortex raingear. It is exactlty like the others, but is alot less expensive. I think I paid $200 for the whole set. You can ask anyone in the club, don't skimp on the raingear. It actually will cost you more to buy cheap first (because you still buy the good stuff in the end.)

Hank,
Don't buy frogg toggs as Ray can also probably attest I got soaked and it sounded like he did as well. Tim is right you don't want to buy it cheap because cheap cannot with stand the monsoon we went through on Sunday.

Hank, I was good to go during that rain. I bought the Cabelas GuideWear gortex jacket and bigs and they have been outstanding under the worst conditions. They are pricey but they are worth it in my opinion.

My frog skins were useless in the shower we got on sunday but for most light humidity days they work fine rofl new rain gear on the Christmas list :)
